binopdf(x/2,x,0.5) should yield the smallest solution. However, binopdf gets hung up on the input type. Does anyone know why?

the function you try to use belongs to the Statistics Toolbox, on cody it is only allowed to use Matlab alone, without toolboxes. Read the notes on the right side in this link: http://www.mathworks.de/matlabcentral/about/cody/#contribute_problems
