upon upgrade from Matlab13a to Matlab14b, GUI missing some buttons

2 views (last 30 days)
Upon startup of Matlab 14b I got several messages like this:
Warning: Could not find appropriate function on path loading function handle /usr/global/matlab2013a/toolbox/matlab/uitools/@uitools/@uibuttongroup/childAddedCbk.m>manageButtons
Then, when I ran my GUI, some buttons are missing. What is up with this?

I don't know. It looks like it's trying to run some code from the prior version. Did you hard code something into your startup.m that specifically runs something from the old version? Maybe try doing this:
restoredefaultpath
savepath
Then restart and see if the error messages pop up again. If they do, set a breakpoint on the first line of your startup.m file and step through to see where they arise. If you still can't figure it out, call the Mathworks, which offers free installation help for everyone , even for student/education/home editions.

I did what you suggested and the error messages went away. However, my problem still remains. I have several missing buttons in the GUI I wrote. I will contact official support next. Thanks for trying,
-Jeff
