How do I label the bright and less bright points in the image with different colors?

Hello!

I have the below image that shows many points

 some of them are brighter than the other"less bright", how do I label them with different colors?

colormap(jet(256));
colorbar;

You can use other colormaps - there are a bunch of default ones so pick one of those or else make up something custom.
